Alison Goldie is an actor, theatre director, writer, teacher and coach.
​
After graduating from Hull University with a degree in drama she performed in many rooms above pubs, was a solo stand-up comic, played all the female characters in Newman and Baddiel in Pieces (BBC2), then became a regular presenter on The Travel Show (BBC2).
​
She toured the world with award-winning The Weird Sisters theatre company and received much acclaim for her solo show about her travails in love, Lady in Bed. She has directed several plays for Vienna’s English Theatre and plays, musicals, sketch shows and physical theatre all over the U.K. for theatre companies, university groups, youth and community organisations.
Alison teaches classes on a variety of subjectsincluding improvisation, drama, comedy, devising, creative writing, flirting, presentation skills and confidence-building. She is a compelling public speaker on aspects of her life and work.

Her book ‘The Improv Book: Improvisation for Theatre, Comedy, Education and Life’ was published in 2015 by Oberon Books and has received unanimously positive reviews.
